The Simpson's Movie
Finally!!!

After years of waiting for Matt Groening to find the inspiration to do The Simpson's Movie, he finally did it...and it's hilarious! Featuring, literally, a cast of thousands, just about every Simpson's character is featured in one form or another. Of course, you're not going to get EVERY Simpson character to get their due time, but some of the best get some great lines.
Very seldom do you get to go to a movie where you smile, laugh and truly enjoy yourself. At least, that's how it is for me. Sure, its the same humor as you get FOR FREE on TV, and yes, the movie runs like a long episode, but so what? Its still fun to see your favorite characters on screen. Negatives...
Too bad some of my favorites didn't get enough time on screen, but the fact is, that's not going to happen. You get about 90 minutes to feature all of these characters, and believe me, they do their damn best. But hey, I'm a Ralph Wiggum fan, and he only has a couple of quick lines (even though they're great). But, the main folks, The Simpson Family and The Flanders get plenty of screen time. But hey, there's always the sequel...just ask Maggie (you'll see...)
There are a few times in the film, particularly in the middle, that draw out a bit. But, that's to be expected. Positives...
Its funny, has heart, and is lots of fun. If you're a fan, there's lots to see and laugh at. Homer and Bart, through their trials and tribulations, are a great team, and do love each other - even though they constantly try to kill each other.
There's lots of character development, but after 18 years, you already know these classic characters. It just pushes it to the next stage.
The animation is great, as expected, and there's lots of both smiles and huge laughs.
Don't miss the opening sequence...its great!
Bottom Line...
If you're a fan of the show, go see it. If you're not a fan, you still may like it, because it is very smart humor. Besides, you get to see Bart's little "dingle dangle!"
Bonus: Stay through the credits! Some really funny stuff at the end. |
